Keeping up with CRE trends is as easy as 1-2-3 with our weekly piece! The Weekly Review is a new blog series that will be released every Friday. The market is constantly growing and adapting to new ventures and ideas, and our goal is to provide up-to-date information into what is happening in both the Columbus and U.S. markets, as well as the commercial real estate industry as a whole. As stories evolve, the Weekly Review will continue to follow along and update our clients and community.

“BJ's Wholesale Club plans to establish a logistics and distribution center near Rickenbacker International Airport. The national warehouse retailer will create 250 jobs as a result of the project, which is being developed by VanTrust Real Estate. The facility will be constructed at 180 Kenmore Blvd. in the village of Commercial Point in Pickaway County. It is located within the Rickenbacker Exchange industrial park. The new jobs will generate more than $13 million in annual payroll by the end of 2028, according to state documents.”

“The developer behind Galaxy at Polaris will move forward with future phases of the project in 2026, continuing a trend of creating walkable, amenity-rich development in Columbus' suburbs. NP Limited Partnership was awarded $7.39 million in Transformational Mixed-Use Development tax credits in the latest round of the state program. The second of three planned phases was awarded the tax credits. When the project is finished, there could be up to 800 total apartments, said NP Managing Director Franz Geiger. The entire project is expected to be completed in five years.”

“Dublin City Schools has withdrawn its agreement to purchase a Cardinal Health building it planned to utilize for educational purposes, the district's superintendent announced at a board meeting this week. A non-binding letter of intent was signed in March 2024 to acquire the facility at 7200 Cardinal Place, which is part of the healthcare company's Dublin headquarters campus. The agreement allowed the district to withdraw by May 2025 if the acquisition was "no longer feasible." Superintendent John Marschhausen this week said it would exercise that right.”
